For Mother’s day, my darling husband bought me a sewing machine! I’d mentioned wanting one but I knew very little about them. It was a gift in itself that he did the research and picked one out for me!
I vaguely remember my mother teaching me to sew my school uniforms but that’s about all I remember. Needless to say, I had some challenges. After realizing how to properly thread the machine (thank you Britt), it was a breeze and I’m excited to share my first sewing project.
I got the idea from a blog I follow Centsational Girl. Although she used fusible web which I never have success with. Visit her site for a no sew pillow tutorial.

The pillows are made from World Market napkins. They were exactly what I was looking for!! I’m so pleased with the way they turned out that I can’t wait to tackle my next sewing project. Maybe I’ll sew Lily a dress!?!

Thanks Mel! Do you remember mom teaching us to sew?
I am way behind in posting comments so trying to catch up. Way to go Walt! What a nice surprise for Angela on Mother’s Day. Love the pillows. Out of napkins?? How neat is that!….Sue
Yay, I made it in the blog! Love the fabric for the pillows.
Thanks again for your help! I had to buy the fabric when I saw it! But now my curtains don’t match as well so I need new curtains to match the pillows
