I’m up to 58 pins on my DIY Projects and Craft board on Pinterest. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot to some but that is 58 items on my to-do/make list. I thought the Young House Love Pinterest Challenge was a great motivator to jump start some do-it-yourself action. I took on the challenge pretty late in the game so I needed something quick and easy. The “How to sew a pillow cover in 5-minutes” was the perfect project!!
My pin from apartmenttherapy.com
It took me just under 10 minutes because I had to keep my eye on a 12 month old (who has mastered climbing into her walker only to get stuck trying to get out) but it was still pretty darn fast! How is that for a quick and easy way to update your décor!
- Fabric (the fabric I used was from Michaels)
- Measuring tape
- Sewing Machine
Steps to Complete:
- Measure and cut your fabric.
- Length – (Pillow size x 2) + 4 inches. My pillow was 12 inches so I made the length of my fabric 28 inches. Measuring the fabric twice the length of the pillow helps you avoid having to sew all 4 sides together. This way you will only have to sew the two shorter sides (in this case the width).
- Width – (Pillow width + 2). For example – if your pillow is 10 inches wide cut the fabric to be 12 inches.
All Done!!! I hope you found that easy and helpful! Let me know if you have any question.
