Copy Cat Craft – Wreath

I’d say 1 in 10 of my crafts is an original idea. Most of my crafts are inspired from something I see on Pinterest, Better Homes and Gardens or blogs I follow. This craft is no different. I came across this wreath on Jones Design Company (one of my new favorite sites) and had to “pin” it on Pinterest. I finally purchased the materials and it was such a fun thing to make! I substituted a few products so I’ll share what I did but link you to hers at the end. The fabric is a rustic red for the Fall but it could easily pass for a Christmas Cranberry so I will probably keep it up for a couple of seasons!I used felt, a 12 inch wire wreath, hot glue gun and my rotary cutter and cutting mat but wool would work, a styrofoam wreath is a pricier but great option and scissors would also get the job done.

Cut the fabric in 2 inch strips the length of your fabric. I used approximately a yard of felt.aWrap the wreath with the fabric. Bunch and twist the material and glue it to the wreath. Start with the outside edge of the wreath and work your way in.I repeated this process for 3 rows of bunches.Below is a picture of my inspiration from Jones Design Company.

Hers is a little more swirly (is that a word?) than mine. I will work on that on my next one!

What do you think? Let me know if you have any questions?!?

Very nice. It definitely does look more cranberry than rustic red. I would never have thought of using felt but perhaps ribbon. Great job for your first time and I like your “swirly”…Sue

This wreath is lovely. I love the color you picked, and I think you are right, it could double for fall and Christmas time. Seeing yours and how easy it is makes me want to give it a try. I’ve see a few felt projects lately and I think I need to pick some felt up! Thanks for sharing!
