It feels like forever since I’ve had a good meaty post. We were on a roll with Lily’s room, our kitchen pantry, the master closet reorganization and decorating our mantel for fall and then we hit a wall. It’s more like the family suffered strep throat, 5th grade math is kickin’ our butts {with 2 hours of homework every night}, marathon training is back in high gear, flag football ties up our Saturdays and with the NFL ticket it’s hard to get my honeydo list on my husband’s schedule.
The good news is I made some progress on a few kitchen projects this weekend. The bad news, I have nothing too exciting to share yet and the office redo is still on the back burner!!
So, in the meantime, I thought I’d throw in a fun and easy craft – hair clips!
Our daughter was born with a head full of hair and now it’s always in her eyes. After going through a phase where she’d pull out her hair accessories, now she prefers them. However, she has lost many of them along the way so I thought I’d make a few.
Materials
- Hair Clips – I purchased the hair clips from CVS.
- Ribbon – I stocked up some time back when it was 50% off at Michael’s.
- Fabric glue – I used Fabric-Tac. I would suggest a clear glue. The white flexible fabric glue I started with was messy and harder to work with.
- Scissors or rotary cutter
- Cut the ribbon to fit the entire perimeter of the clip. I cut 7 1/2 inch ribbon pieces.
- Dab the ribbon with glue and stick the ribbon on the clip starting with the inside bottom prong.

- Let the glue dry according to the directions.

Remember the rosette necklace? I used an extra rosette, added a felt leaf and glued it to a clip! And to think I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with a little girl!?!
Hope you enjoy it!

Wish I thought of this when Anna was little. I spent a small fortune on hair clips when she was a toddler. She doesn’t like anything in her hair now *sigh*
Too cute!!! You are so smart thinking of this craft. You should sell them you know! I love the rose also and you could use that as a pin clipped your blouse or scarf. Never fear about your blog…I love it..Sue
I love easy! Saw these on Skip to my Lou. So cute!
This looks so easy…I need to make some for my toddler, I’m book-marking this to make later! I found you via Made by you Monday. I’m your newest follower and would love a “follow back”!

I’ve bought some of these hairclips and just need to get glueing (although my little girl has just started pulling her hairclips out). Thanks for the inspiration.
I love making clips for my girls. Such a fun, cheap way to get a personalized look. The addition of the rosette and leaf really set it apart. Great work! I am a new follower from Sugar and Dots hop. Vicky from http://www.messforless.net
