I haven’t forgotten that the office is suppose to be our next focus but I have a legitimate excuse. One, I said I’d share our playroom progress months ago and two, we hit our one year warranty mark on our renovation which has wreaked havoc on our plans until it’s complete.
Our Playroom {In Progress}
The wall unit is from JCPenney.
Daybed is the Hemnes daybed from Ikea. It has a trundle AND storage. However, we need a better mattress, bedding and accessories. Alphabet was purchased on etsy. Handprints are a DIY project from a previous post. Yes, that is a temporary paper shade that we desperately need to replace.
Our playroom acts as a playroom/guestroom. For that reason, I’m on the fence as to whether to make it kid focused or adult oriented. The rug was my inspiration piece so currently it’s filled with primary colors but, I’m struggling with the the pillows and curtains so I’m re-evaluating my decision and rethinking a neutral and mature palette.
Here are few ideas I saw on The Weekend Homemaker this week that incorporate a good mix of adult and child friendly decor.

But here are other options for the wall not pictured should we continue with a primary kid vicinity.
Like the chalkboard paint, table and chairs.

I like the wall art and clothesline of artwork below.

OMG, I love your playroom and I am drooling over the storage unit! Love the colors, too! What paint color did you use? Thanks for the mention!
Thanks Crystal!!! The paint color is Leaf Bud from Lowes. It’s the same color we have in Lily’s room but it looks completely different in the playroom with the low lighting.
Thanks Sarah! I appreciate you stopping by!! Angela
It’s looking great! Love the bright colors with the white cabinets!
Your playroom is looking great! There are so many good ideas out there….pinterest is a great spot so looks like you are on the right track
visiting from tatertots!
I love the Potterybarn kids with the giraffe and hippo, etc. Your window showing the outdoors will also blend in (as pictured). The colors are gentle and if I were a guest there it would be such fun to sleep in a room where you feel like a kid again!! Sue
Thanks Sue! I love your feedback! I hadn’t thought of it that way! Love it!
Your playroom looks great so far. You are doing great work! Love the daybed!
It looks amazing, and so organized. I would love for you to stop by and link up your play room to More the Merrier Monday. It lasts through Wednesday so you have plenty of time to link up.

Hi Angela,
Love the playroom. I did the chalkboard paint plus a coat of magnetic paint on top of that to 1 entire wall in the kids room. I also did the clothesline where I can hang their art (purchased it from Ikea) its an adjustable silver picture line that comes with the clips…
I’ll post pictures so you can see…this week
Kris, Thanks!! I can’t wait to see them! I loved all the help you provided with the Florida house! Keep in touch!
Angela
Angela, your room is looking great! I feel your pain with wanting an adult friendly space too, as we have 4 kids, and a 2nd living space that I would love for them and all their things, but I want it to look chic and inviting to adults too without compromising kid practicality! I think you are on your way to that, yours is looking fab ~ Top Job ~ Robyn
Thanks Robyn!! I appreciate the feedback! I visited your site and your children are adorable! You did such a great job on your son’s 1 year birthday! Doesn’t the time just fly!
I love what you have so far. I have some things posted on my pinterest for our playroom. You can find that link via my blog. (I’m a bit addicted to pinterest!! LOL)
