It’s Almost Fall!

I'm super excited to share that Cottages and Bungalows featured last year's Fall Mantel in their Fall edition!! I was surprised when they contacted me a couple of months ago and I didn't say anything because I had to see it to believe it.

Well, my issue arrived this weekend!!

They asked me to share three fall decorating tips. Say what? Me? Sure, I'm obsessed with tweaking our home but I don't feel qualified to give others advice. I only hope it sounds like I know what I'm talking about. Nonetheless, it is an honor to be featured with other great blogs including one blog I follow The Nesting Place.

My mantel from last fall was thrown together. I didn't think the pieces all fit together, however, it was featured on Tatertots and Jello, Babble, SomeWhat Simple and several other blogs. I'm not sure I can top that? This year I'm not sure what to do but I snapped a few photos while window shopping at Kirkland's to get the ideas flowing. I took these photos over a month ago. At the time I wasn't ready to start thinking about Fall but with school in season and the cooler temps this week, I'm getting there!

I love monograms and this monogrammed pumpkin even lights up at a reasonable price of $16.99 (available here)

Or these white monogrammed pumpkins would be a nice contrast against our dark walls (available here).

I'm digging these shiny colorful ceramic pumpkins the most but I can't decide on a color because I like them all (and the white candle holders above them as well)! (not available online)

They also had these burlap pumpkins that spelled our Fall. These would be a fun DIY project.

I've been wanting to add orange pillows to our living room so I snapped a photo of pillows I was considering, however, they may be to fancy for our laid back, kid friendly style.

Here are a few other ideas from my Autumn Inspirations Pinterest board.

I'd love to make this wreath that I didn't get to last year.

I really like the white and brown of the mantel above. And I want wheat leaves somewhere in my house this year! (via)

I love the blue reclaimed wood. It makes me want to incorporate blue somethere this year. {via}

These pumpkin topiaries seem simple enough for outdoor decor (Potterybarn).

And this easy fall craft via BHG would go well if I get those colorful glazed pumpkins?

Oh and I saw this great Fall checklist on Pinterest!!

My husband and I got a jump start with Pumpkin Spice Lattes today so one down!

What are your fall decorating plans? I'd love to hear or see more about it! Please, please, please leave a link to your fall inspiration blog post or pinterest board if you have one! I'd love to take a peek!
