January Goals and Inspirations

As you know, January is the month to set goals and new year’s resolution. This year I decided against setting any lofty goals but instead adopting just a few simple themes.

Minimize clutter

We are 99.9% sure that our family is complete so we are shedding the baby gear left and right. We have been slowly getting rid of other things over the last 3-4 months but we still have a long way to go. I usually pack something away for a couple of weeks and hold on to it just to make sure I won’t miss it too terribly and then it goes for a ride with me in the car for another couple of weeks until I can make it to Goodwill – like I said S-L-O-W process – not one I’d recommend. So far, we have donated 6 bags to goodwill and I have 2 bins for an upcoming consignment sale fundraiser in March.

Live Healthy

My husband and I have jumped on the gluten free bandwagon and are attempting a Paleo-ish lifestyle. He is trying it to see if it helps his training program (he is heading to the Boston marathon again in April) and I’m just trying to avoid the slump I feel after indulging my sweet tooth. We are now working on family friendly meals to get our children off to the right start. It’s been a lot of trial and error but I have found some delicious paleo meals and treat alternatives that I’ll share over the next couple of months. We are also planning a few family race events later this year which will be a first for Townes.

Paleo Cookies

YUM – I can’t get enough of these Paleo cookies. It’s a slightly different recipe from the one I shared previously..recipe to come…

Enjoy More

Like these little guys…Townes was taking a picture of me (“say cheese”) with my iPhone while I was taking a picture of them.

And how could I miss this little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog dance.

I plan to do more of what I enjoy which changes throughout the year. I love to organize, bake, and decorate in the winter when it’s too cold to go out. I hope to learn how to use my Photoshop  Christmas gift from my husband (he is the best!).  We’ll see what the rest of the year brings.
