Europe is known to be a dream destination for many avid travelers. The sights, culture and food are just some of the tempting reasons to take a vacation by plane. Go ahead, choose a point on the European map. No matter where your finger lands, it’s sure to be a feast for the eyes. However, some countries on this vast continent have outstanding specialties. While the nations here are known for having scenic spots and dining zones to visit, some are more popular than others.
For food, people go to Italy and France to taste some of the best meals. If you want breathtaking views, the Swedish mountain ranges and the Greek coast are the best viewing spots. Then, if it’s culture you’re looking for, Britain’s rich history can satisfy any history buff. However, it’s surprising that Britain’s outdoor adventures can keep you coming back.

Enjoy the sun when it shines
Britain is known to be in this perennial state of rain. It is as if the land is constantly drenched in rain and freezing breezes. So it’s understandable to think that this country isn’t ideal for great views and outdoor activities. That’s why it was so shocking to me when I learned that the opposite is the norm. When the sun shines in all its glory, I suggest going to the Isle of Skye. It’s a coastal sweet spot in Elgol where the views are nothing short of mesmerizing. If you want a colorful sight, Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano, is your bet. There’s a bit of a climb involved, but once you’re at the top you’ll be surrounded by magnificent views of the countryside below.
Revisit historical monuments
In London, you’ll find that even close to the city center, there are historic sites scattered throughout the region. The historic Tower of London is a top choice for tourists and even locals. It’s been around for hundreds of years and is still as grand as the day it was built. Another oldie but goodie is the Carlisle Railway. For the Harry Potter fanatics, they would immediately recognize this as the gateway to Hogwarts. But for us Muggles it’s simply a gateway to the lush views of the Eden Valley.
Be a wise traveler
Like every place, Britain has its high and low seasons. There are times of year when the constant rain and cold make visiting these places more of a hassle than an escape. Make sure you plan your trips wisely. Even though Britain offers some of the most amazing views you could ever imagine, weather and crowds can change everything. It’s also a notoriously expensive place. The cost of living here is one of the highest in the world, so it is advisable to plan carefully to avoid surprise costs. If you do this, you’re sure to enjoy some of Europe’s best when you visit the UK.
